  • What makes Inner Mind Counseling unique?
Inner Mind Counseling is unique in that it uses evidence based therapeutic approaches specifically tailored for children, adolescents, and young adults.
  • How do I make an appointment?
You can call or text Inner Mind Counseling (732) 705 1082, send an email to Caitlyn@innermindcounseling.com or use the client portal. Prior to your appointment, you will be asked to fill out paperwork through the client portal which includes informed consent, HIPAA policies, and a questionnaire.
  • What should I expect for the initial evaluation?
The intitial evaluation is an opportunity to discuss the presenting concern, expectations for counseling and goals for treatment. If the client is a minor, the initial evaluation is scheduled with parents. It is typically asked that your child does not attend the initial evaluation to give you an opportunity to freely discuss the presenting concern. Your child will have an opportunity to attend an individual session after the initial evaluation.
  • What should I expect during treatment?
Treatment is highly individualized based on the client's needs. In the beginning of the therapeutic process, it is typically recommended to attend individual counseling weekly. However, this is based on the presenting concern, and your individualized treatment. If the client is a minor, it is expected that parents will be involved in their child's treatment by attending parent sessions regularly.
  • What should I expect during a parent session?
Parent sessions are scheduled to check-in with you about your child's treatment. This gives you an opportunity to discuss your child's progress or any concerns you have about the therapeutic process. It is also a great time to explore different strategies and tools to help you address your child's needs.
  • How long is therapy needed?
It is difficult to estimate how long therapy will be needed as everyone is different. The contributing factors to the length of treatment are biology, background history, life circumstances, current environment, severity of symptoms, and motivation.
